CARB toroidal roller bearing is a brand new radial roller bearing. This compact self-aligning roller bearing was developed by SKF and launched in 1995. This unique bearing design combines the self-aligning capability of spherical roller bearings with the unrestricted axial displacement capability of cylindrical roller bearings. It can also have a smaller cross-sectional area, which is usually the case with needle roller bearings.

The CARB toroidal roller bearing is a single row bearing with long, slightly cambered symmetrical rollers and a toroidal raceway profile. CARB toroidal roller bearings are non-locating bearings and can only withstand radial loads. CARB bearings are often used to replace non-locating spherical roller bearings in locating/non-locating bearings.

CARB toroidal roller bearings can be divided into three types according to the type of cage, steel stamping cage, car-made brass cage, full complement roller CARB bearing.
